Tyler Perry is out here doing Good Deeds by keeping elderly people in their homes!
The media mogul reached out to Mayor Andrew Dickens to talk about low-income elderly homeowners who are at risk of losing homes due to increased property taxes. Many of the senior citizens, who are on a fixed income, have been displaced because Tyler Perry Studios has increased the value around the neighborhood and they can’t afford their property taxes.
As a resolution, Tyler Perry is footing the bill and donating $2.75 million dollars to low-income senior citizens that live near his studio, so they can keep their homes—which includes $750,000 this year to cover back taxes, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Additionally, Tyler has pledged to pay $500,000 over the next four years to ensure 300 senior citizens are not displaced from their homes.
