Who started the “You Go Girl” catchphrase? Nope, it wasn’t Martin Lawrence, but was actually Whoopi Goldberg!
During a recent interview on ‘The View,’ Tisha Campbell—who played Gina on the ’90s tv show ‘Martin’—credited Whoopi as the first person to say the “You Go Girl” euphemism, which would later become one of the most popular catchphrases of all time.
Tisha explained that Whoopi first said it as a mistake, but once Tisha started saying it and ‘Martin’ creator Martin Lawrence caught wind of the catchphrase, the rest was history!
#DishFam, what do you think about this?
