Tiffany Haddish is keeping it real on why she’s afraid to have kids. On Carmelo Anthony’s What’s In Your Glass, a tearful Tiffany, 40, revealed racism as the reason why she hasn’t embarked on motherhood.
“There’s a part of me that would like to do that, and I always make up these excuses like, ‘Oh, I need a million dollars in the bank before I do that, I need this, I need that.’ But really, it’s like, I would hate to give birth to someone that looks like me … knowing that they’re gonna be hunted or killed. Like, why would I put someone through that?” she said tearfully.
Tiffany noted that “white people don’t have to think about that” and that everyone should discuss ways to “come together as a community” to eradicate racism. When it comes to Carmelo and Lala Anthony’s 13-year-old son Kiyan, the NBA star agreed with Tiffany, sharing that “it’s scary to even think about that.”
During her June appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Tiffany tearfully opened up about experiencing racism, witnessing police brutality firsthand, and the emotions she felt at George Floyd’s funeral.
