Not so fast, Jussie Smollett! Chicago special prosecutor Dan Webb reopened Smollett’s case and after 6 months of investigating, has indicted him on 6 felony charges yesterday stemming from his alleged 2019 hate crime attack—despite the dismissal of Jussie’s previous charges for filing a false report. In a released statement released, Webb questioned Cook County attorney Kim Foxx’s decision to drop the original charges.
“Based on the recommendation of the OSP, a Cook County grand jury returned a six-count indictment charging Jussie Smollett with making four separate false reports to Chicago Police Department officers related to his false claims that he was the victim of a hate crime, knowing that he was not the victim of a crime,” the statement read.
Jussie is expected in court on February 24. What do you think of these new charges? Tune in to see what our Dish Nation hosts think.
