It looks like it’s about to be a hot girl summer for City Girls fans and the Barbz!
Dish Nation’s very own Headkrack and his The Morning Hustle radio show co-star Lore’l interviewed the Queen rapper herself, Nicki Minaj, when she revealed why she wouldn’t collaborate with the City Girls. The “Do We Have A Problem” rapper said she wanted to work with the Miami-bred duo, but some “social media” shade happened and she changed her mind because she felt like they didn’t like her.
“What I will say is that, a few years ago I saw a video of them and I asked someone on their team at the time about them. I was thinking about jumping on a record, one of their records that was out at the time. And then, social media happened,” Nicki explained. “If you hear somebody was saying things about you, not just one thing but repeated tweets for years…” she continued, adding “why would I work with somebody that doesn’t like me?”
After Nicki explained why she never worked with the “Act Up” rappers, the two had a “great convo” and seemingly made amends. Nicki told her Twitter followers that the trio is ready to “make new memories,” while Yung Miami and JT of City Girls thanked the “True Queen” for her time and sage advice.
Just had a great convo with @ThegirlJT & @YungMiami305. Let’s move on & make new memories y’all. 🦄
