A prom…but make it virtual!
As many proms and graduations have been cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis, Michelle Obama and MTV are teaming up to bring the prom to them with ‘Prom-athon’—a day-long event for the Class of 2020. Hosted by Michelle and MTV’s When We All Vote organization, the takeover will include all things prom-inspired such as nostalgic movies and original content, celebrity appearances, and live performances that will lead up to the actual 90-minute virtual prom.
As most of this year’s graduating class will be eligible to vote in this year’s upcoming election, the organization will highlight students who created the most innovative nonpartisan voter registration efforts with their 2020 Prom Challenge.
The Prom-athon will air on May 22nd on MTV. Will you be tuning in?
