Lenny Kravitz is unshakable in his vow of celibacy and now all of his time in the gym makes sense.
Let Lenny tell it, his Papa was a rolling stone, and apparently, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Lenny revealed that after he and Lisa Bonet divorced after nearly six years of marriage, he fell into his father’s footsteps and became a player, just as his Pops predicted.
“After the marriage, I became more like him [his father]. I was becoming a player,” he explained. “I didn’t like it. I didn’t want to be that guy. So I had to tackle that and it took years.”
However, the “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over” rockstar overcame his philandering ways by committing to a life of celibacy, at least until his next marriage. “Yes, it’s a spiritual thing,” he explained to the outlet—adding that he hasn’t been in a serious relationship in nine whole years!
