It looks like Kim Kardashian is legally single and the West is history!
After more than a year of divorce drama and an intense courtroom showdown yesterday, the Skims founder was released from the shackles of her estranged ex-husband, Ye formerly known as Kanye West. While Kim K. showed up to court via video, Mr. West didn’t bother to show up, allowing his 5th divorce attorney—whom he hired after firing his 4th attorney Chris Melcher right before the court date—to represent him. Although Ye’s lawyer didn’t object to Kim becoming legally single, he had three conditions: the right to get reimbursed of money that’s supposed to be divided up will be preserved in case either of them dies, which was granted, and that Kim wouldn’t transfer any assets she had in trust and would waive the “marital privilege” if she remarries—both of which the judge rejected.
Amid Kim being granted her single status by the courts and dropping her last name “West,” Ye dropped a disturbing animated music video for his “Eazy” song that features a look-a-like of Kim’s beau, Pete Davidson. In the video for the song—that includes lyrics “God saved me from that crash, just so I could beat Pete Davidson’s ass”—the SNL bad boy is kidnapped, tied up, and buried alive. There’s also a scene where Ye is carrying what looks to be Pete’s head.
Kim filed for divorce from Ye in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. The two share four kids North, Chicago, Psalm, and Saint.
