Is Jussie Smollett making his grand return to Hollywood after his hate crime hoax scandal?
It was announced that Jussie teamed up with Mona Scott-Young and her production company Monami Entertainment to direct the film B-Boy Blues that’s coming to BET+! The film is an adaptation of the James Earl Hardy novel about a class and culture clash when a Brooklyn-bred college-educated journalist and a Harlem-native homeboy-bike messenger fall in love.
““B-Boy Blues is a beautifully bold, funny, heartwarming bro-mance and I was thrilled to partner with Jussie to help this wonderful film gain greater exposure,” Mona shared with TMZ.
BET+ executive Devin Griffin chimed in on representing the black experience and LGBTQ+ community.
“Through our content slate, we are intentional about representing the fullness of the Black experience, including that of the LGBTQ+ community,’ said BET+ executive Devin Griffin. ‘B-Boy Blues’ is an artful, heart-rending film about the complexity of love – something we all can relate to,’ DailyMail reports.
The film stars Timothy Richardson, Ledisi, Brandee Evans, Broderick Hunter, Thomas Mackie, and more. Will you be tuning in to B-Boy Blues on BET+ when it streams on June 9 in time for Pride Month? Tune in to see if our Dish Nation hosts will be watching!
