It looks like Malia Obama has a new gig!
After inking an eight-figure deal with Amazon on the heels of Atlanta’s final season, creator Donald Glover is singing Malia’s praises after he hired her to join the writers’ room for his first project with the streaming giant. The upcoming series will feature a “Beyoncé-like” character and could potentially be called Hive, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
“She’s just like, an amazingly talented person,” Glover said about Malia at the Atlanta Season 3 premiere—adding that she’s “really focused, and she’s working really hard.” This isn’t Malia’s first ride on the entertainment rodeo as she worked on the Lena Dunham-created HBO series Girls as an intern first then a writing assistant, and as a production assistant on Halle Berry’s CBS drama, Extant.
According to THR, Donald’s Amazon deal will “spotlight Glover’s work and other curated content on Amazon’s Prime Video hub.” There are no additional details of his forthcoming series, but we hope Malia slays it in the writing room!
