Will Smith choosing “chaos” by slapping Chris Rock might cost the King Richard actor his Oscar!
The streets are still buzzin’ over The Fresh Prince presenting Chris Rock with a Big Willie Style slap while onstage at the Oscars. The now-infamous interaction between the two happened after Chris made a “G.I. Jane” joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith who recently decided to go bald because of her alopecia.

The Academy announced they don’t condone violence after Hollywood heavyweights weighed in on Will putting the paws on Chris. Judd Apatow said Will’s actions were “pure out of control rage and violence;” Stephen A. Smith said Will should be ashamed of himself, and fellow comedian Kathy Griffin expressed concerns for possible copycat offenders.
The Academy does not condone violence of any form.

I just saw the RAW footage. @willsmith should be ashamed of his damn self. It was a G.I. Jane joke. Total B.S. If it were @TheRock or someone like that instead of @chrisrock would he have done that shit!

Let me tell you something, itâs a very bad practice to walk up on stage and physically assault a Comedian.
Now we all have to worry about who wants to be the next Will Smith in comedy clubs and theaters.â Kathy Griffin (@kathygriffin) March 28, 2022
Insiders now say Will could lose his Oscar for Best Actor in King Richard. According to The New York Post, The Academy’s code of conductâwhich aims to foster “supportive environments, and ârespect for human dignityââdoes not tolerate those who “abuse their status” in a matter that “violates recognized standards of decency,” CEO Dawn Hudson explained when the code of conduct went into effect in 2017 post the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
Will Smith apologized to The Academy in his acceptance speech for Best Actor, but not to Chris Rock. Do you think Will Smith deserves to lose his Oscar over slapping Chris Rock? Tune in to see what our Dish Nation hosts think about this awards show snafu!
