Leave it up to 2020 to bring R&B legends, Brandy and Monica, together in an epic Verzuz battle that garnered over 1.2 million viewers on Instagram Live! Everybody and their mama was in attendance, including Michelle Obama, Missy Elliott, Da Brat, Porsha Williams, Adele, Solange, Queen Latifah, and many more. The night was filled with a surprise feature, some sizzlin’ girl talk between sets, the songstresses’ soulful ballads, poetry, and a bit of playful shade.

The two R&B singers kicked off the night on the political tip with a pop-up of Democratic Vice President candidate Sen. Kamala Harris.

Monica shared classics like “So Gone”, Before You Walk Out of My Life, Don’t Take It Personal, For You I Will, Why I Love You So Much and many more—and she even featured a new track called Trenches featuring Lil Baby.

In addition to some poetry and a soulful rendition of Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come”, Brandy shared classics like “I Wanna Be Down”, “Brokenhearted”, “Full Moon”, “Baby”, “Angel In Disguise”, “Almost Doesn’t Count” and along with a couple of new songs on her recent album, B7.
