The 2020 Class of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees are here! This year’s list includes 16 artists—9 of which are first-time nominees. Among the first-timers are the late great Whitney Houston, Pat Benatar, Notorious B.I.G., the Dave Matthews Band, Soundgarden, Thin Lizzy, the Doobie Brothers, Motörhead and T. Rex. Returning noms include five-time nominee Kraftwerk, MC5 (nominated four times), Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode (nominated twice), Judas Priest (nominated in 2018), three-time nominee Rufus featuring Chaka Khan and Todd Rundgren (nominated last year).
To be nominated, each artist/band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of being nominated. Up until January 10, the public will be able to cast their vote once a day with Google. The ceremony will take place on May 2, 2020 at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
