Tyra Banks is keeping it real about going under the knife.
In her new book Perfect Is Boring, the 44-year-old reveals she had a nose job early in her career after breaking it when she was just three years old.
Despite the injury, Tyra didn’t know she had a broken nose because she never felt any pain nor had any issues breathing.
“Cut to years later, I’m constantly scratching my nose and it was kind of growing sideways,” she says in the book.
It wasn’t until she became a model that a makeup artist commented how her nose felt strange, which lead her to consult a doctor.
“I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching,” she continues. “I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery. I admit it! Fake hair, and I did my nose. I feel I have a responsibility to tell the truth.”
Banks also thinks women should stop judging each other’s personal beauty choices and just let everyone do what makes them happy.
“Fix it or flaunt it—I think women should be able to do both,” she told People. “There is a boundary line, either you’re super natural or you live at the plastic surgeon. It’s okay to hop back and forth over that line. You want a hair weave? Fine. You want permanent eyebrows? Fine. We as women need to stop judging.”
