Rapper Tory Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, was officially charged with the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Tory’s charges include felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

The incident took place on July 12th after Tory and Megan left a Hollywood Hills party. According to the criminal complaint, the two started arguing in an SUV just moments before shots were fired. Tory was arrested at the scene and charged with carrying a concealed weapon but was later released on$35,000 bail. A month or so passed before Megan addressed the shooting on Instagram Live, publicly naming Tory as the shooter and accusing his team of misleading the media.

Tory, who denied Megan’s allegations in the recent release of his Daystar album, will be arraigned on October 13th and can face up to 22 years and 8 months in prison.
