Hey all you cool cats and kittens, we’ve got some Tiger King casting news that might cause a little mayhem and madness!

Nicolas Cage is set to star in his first TV series, which will be centered around Tiger King’s Joe Schreibvogel aka Joe Exotic. Produced by Imagine TV and CBS TV Studios and led by American Vandal show runner, writer and executive producer, Dan Lagana, the 8-part made-for-TV series will be based on Leif Reigstad’s article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild”—a twist of events as many thought it would be based on the Netflix series.

As there were many casting suggestions on who would make the best Joe Exotic before the news was announced, such as David Spade, Danny McBride, Woody Harrelson and more, fans had mixed emotions about casting Nicolas Cage to channel the eccentric Oklahoma zookeeper and took to Twitter to express their concerns.
