The R&B girls are fighting!
Xscape loves SWV are starring in a reality tv series together Queens of R&B, but they’re not here for co-headlining their joint tour!
Kandi Burrus explained that since Xscape’s booking fee is 3 to 4 times more than SWV’s, co-headlining the tour would mean a pay cut for them. Plus, SWV may have sold more records in the ‘90s (per Coko’s “I sold $30 million records, b****”), but they’ve been opening up for Xscape for the past 6 years since they’ve reunited.
We may not have been the headliners in the 90s but we have been for the past 6yrs since we’ve reunited… & respectfully they’ve opened up for us multiple times already. 🤷🏾♀️ #SWVXSCAPE #TheQueensOfRB

I never said they didn’t sell more records. But the concert is about who can sell more tickets. Be upset if you want but we’ve done other shows since the tour & the promoters still had SWV go on before us. It is what it is. https://t.co/qGQbnGvicq

However, SWV’s Coko and Lelee defended co-headlining the tour, saying it’s not about the money, but more so about two legendary R&B girl groups collaborating for the fans. Coko also shared a screenshot that shows SWV’s streaming numbers are higher than Xscape’s.
This ain’t about no money. Our songs are so dope, we can just run it the way it needs to be ran. Their money don’t mean shit to us respectfully. We were doing it because it was a good look for girl groups and our fans to see us together. Doing something that’s never been done.

SWV will never ask anyone to take a pay cut. This collaboration was never about SWV or Xscape. It was about US! But when US turns into WE, and then ME? Then you get a circus on the internet. It ain’t never about a coin—we get ours—they get theres. Everybody eats♥️
