Basically everyone and their Mother was shocked to hear that Mexican Drug Lord Joaquín Guzmán, or “El Chapo” had been captured again and returned to Prison on Friday evening.

Now, more details are coming to light that are not only shocking, but COMPLETELY blowing our minds! Guess how the feds came across Guzmán’s whereabouts?

It was his interview with famed Oscar winner, Sean Penn, for Rolling Stone Magazine.

While it initially sounds pretty brave and somewhat dangerous to conduct such an interview, it now has landed Penn in the hot seat! That’s right. U.S. authorities want to know why he didn’t give them any information on the drug lord’s location prior to the interview.

However, he isn’t alone. Mexican actress Kate del Castillo allegedly joined Penn in his interview with El Chapo. According to Variety, Castillo plays a “ruthless drug cartel leader” in a current role. She was sent to the interview by a Producer that Penn named “Espinoza.” Now, she too is undergoing questioning regarding her involvement.

To an extent, it’s interesting that Penn was able to arrange such an interview. But has he crossed the line here? Yes, Chapo was captured and brought back to prison. But were there ACTUAL good intentions behind Penn getting in the interview seat?
