It looks like Rihanna was Super Bowl LIII’sfirst pick for their half-time performance, but in true boss fashion she turned it down because “she supports Colin Kaepernick,” US Weekly reports. A source revealed that “the NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta” but “she said no because of the kneeling controversy” and “doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.” Colin kicked off his social movement against racial injustice two years ago by kneeling during the national anthem, and reportedly has not been picked up by a team since due to his political views.
Super Bowl’s second choice Maroon 5 will headline the show with Cardi B potentially joining them on stage. What do you think of Rihanna’s stance? Tune in to see what our Dish Nation hosts think!
