The 2016 MTV Movie Awards were held Sunday night in Burbank, California and if you missed it… well, we feel kind of bad for you.

Why? Because it was THE place to be. We were there with our very own J-Si who was dishing on the red carpet all night with the celebrities. But even MORE magic went down inside as the winners were announced by hosts Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, and our favorite famous faces had the crowd laughing all night long.

So many #majorkey alerts throughout the night, it’s hard to remember all of them! As Charlize Theron accepted her award for “Best Female Performance,” she was backed by a pack of war boys which made her very excited… I mean who wouldn’t be happy about THAT?! ALSO, when Ryan Reynolds took the stage, he was swarmed by Deadpools rushing and repelling from the building! Yeah, next level type stuff.

One of the major highlights of the show, however, was Melissa McCarthy winning the Comedic Genius Award.

FUN FACT: SHE’S THE FIRST FEMALE EVER TO WIN!

Pretty amazing, right? And totally deserved, she is a “Boss” after all! She even CROWD SURFED her way to the stage before thanking a list of female comedians who had paved the way before her, such as Lucille Ball, Bette Midler, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Another highlight of the night was Will Smith taking home The Generation Award, given to him by the always gorgeous Halle Berry and and Queen Latifah who said,

“We came up together in hip-hop. This is the guy who helped give me my start… we love every single thing about you.”

Ummm, so sweet we could cry.

This segment also featured a funny musical tribute to Smith by The Lonely Island, singing “Parents Just Don’t Understand”, “Get Jiggy With It” and a few other classic Will Smith songsWe TOLD y’all this was good stuff.

A major key in Sunday’s festivities was Ariana Grande FINALLY doing her new song “Dangerous Woman” live! The pop star was brought on stage by Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. The most interesting part about Ariana being there last night though?

HER OUTFIT!

The powerhouse vocalist was channeling the late Marilyn Monroe with her pink gown and white fur boa. And we are SO here for it.

The award for “Best Kiss” is typically one of the highlights of this ceremony and let us just say this year was NO exception! Though the nominees were stacked, but Rebel Wilson and Adam Devine promised us that IF they won… they would make out on stage. And thankfully… they did!!! It totally happened.

This was certainly a night for the books and to be honest, we’re already excited for next year!
