There’s nothing better than awards season.

Tonight the 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards took place in Santa Monica, California and all your favorite stars came out to be honored for their part in the year’s best films and television shows. The lists of nominees were INTENSE for EVERY category. But as we all know, only one person can take the victory home.

Check out the highlights and winners from this evening!

Dominating the Oscar Nominations last week, The Revenant also swept up two awards tonight. One with Leonardo DiCaprio for Best Actor and another for Best Cinematography…

…And while The Danish Girl seems to be a rather large competitor at the Academy Awards, it took home only one award this evening, with Alicia Vikander stealing the award for Best Supporting Actress.

Brie Larson‘s victorious award season continued too, as she took home Best Actress for Room.

Mad Max: Fury Road also had several victories this evening, taking home the awards for Best Director, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Hair & Makeup, Best Visual Effects, Best Actor in an Action Movie (Tom Hardy) and ALSO Best Actress in an Action Movie (Charlize Theron). #WINNING

Spotlight, though not a high count in awards, took home the honor of the night…. Best Picture.

One of the night’s controversies was over the category, Best Actress in a Drama Series. Taraji P. Henson and Viola Davis were nominated alongside Carrie Coon, who won the award for her role in The Leftovers. While coon is highly deserving of the honor, fans were REALLY upset to not see Davis or Henson nab the award. Oh well.

Sylvestor Stallone‘s role in Creed earned him the honor of Best Supporting Actor!

And, Amy Schumer being the badass that she is, took home the MVP Award. WE AGREE, AMY IS OBVI. THE MVP!

And while all these wins are incredibly nice, it was no doubt that the true highlight of the evening was 9 year-old Jacob Tremblay‘s acceptance speech when he won Best Young Actor/Actress for his role in Room. He even says,

“This is the best day of my life.”

Prepare yourselves. Cuteness overload! Congrats, Jacob!

It was certainly a night for the books! What was your favorite moment? Let us know!
