RACHAEL RAY’S ‘HILARIOUS’ CONFUSION WITH BECKY WITH THE GOOD HAIR
Friday, Mar 16, 2018
The Beyhive quickly went on a search last year after Beyoncé’sLemonade album was released. The song “Sorry” called out ‘Becky with the Good Hair,’ a woman who apparently Jay-Z had cheated with. Many had believed the woman Bey was addressing was fashion designer Rachel Roy. Alas, somehow people confused Roy for Ray and ended up attacking our favorite celebrity chef, Rachael Ray!
Rachael addressed the mix-up in an interview with Yahoo! Music:
“I thought that was hilarious. I guess I looked at that as the most ultimate backward compliment — just the idea that anybody would think that I groove in a universe where I get to hang out with JAY-Z or Beyoncé or all that. To me it was like, ‘People think I’m cool enough to go to places where any of this would happen?’ It was so funny to me.”
Despite the Beyhive’s ruthless insults and lemon/bee emojis flooding her comments, she was unbothered.
“When a weird anomaly comes along like the Lemonade thing, I guess I’m weirdly prepared for it. [The hate] doesn’t bother me anymore. It used to hurt my feelings. I used to go home and say, ‘Wow, maybe they’re right. Maybe I should really feel bad about myself.’”
Rachael Ray has been happily married to John M. Cusimano since 2005, so Beyhive, your fears can be put to rest.
