R. KELLY’S EX-WIFE REMIXES HIS 19-MINUTE SONG ‘I ADMIT’
Thursday, Jul 26, 2018

It’s the remix to admission.

Yesterday we showed you our favorite responses to R. Kelly’s song of confessions, and now his ex-wife has added hers to the list.

In R. Kelly’s song “I Admit”, he addresses his three kids with his ex- wife of 12 years, Andrea Lee.

“What you hearin’ out here about dad, guys, I’m sorry for this/ I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine what y’all must be goin’ through/ Every day it’s somethin’ about me, my god, it must be killin’ you/ I promise there’ll be better days / Just keep walkin’ straight/I know you must be worried but just know that I’m okay”

His admissions denied any illegal sexual acts or abuse, but his ex-wife was not here for his lack of accountability.

Andrea took to Instagram to post her own lyrics to the song, highlighting that R. Kelly’s late mother has watched him commit a list of alleged heinous crimes including spousal abuse. The lyrics were accompanied by a picture of Whoopi Goldberg in The Color Purple.

“Your mama IS watching over you/ And rolling over in her grave/ because of the ABUSIVE things you do/ You say she’s looking down from heaven, so there’s nothing she didn’t see/ Which means she saw you BEAT me from heaven and neglect her grand babies”

She also highlighted his neglectful behavior as a parent calling him a deadbeat dad.

“Being a dead beat dad is a conscious choice/ You could face time with them EVERYDAY/ they’d SEE your face and HEAR your voice, so…..”

Drea also has no sympathy for his illiteracy, pointing out that it didn’t hold him back from success. She also makes it clear that his personal past of abuse does NOT excuse his behavior.

She ends her remix with haunting lyrics pointing out that his actions would speak out louder than words: “the TRUTH will set you free/ Nothing good is gonna come to you/ UNTIL YOU DO RIGHT BY ME.”

She tagged several media outlets in her post in efforts that her rebuttal would gain as much traction as R.Kelly’s 19-minute tell-all.
