R. KELLY ACCUSED OF HOLDING YOUNG WOMEN HOSTAGE IN SEX ‘CULT’

The parents of several young women are claiming R. Kelly is holding their daughter against their will in an abusive sex cult.
In the explosive Buzzfeed report, the parents – and three former associates of the R&B star – allege the “Trapped in the Closet” singer of “brainwashing” the women, who initially went to Kelly for help with their music careers.
They claim R. Kelly has the women held up in his Atlanta and Chicago homes, forbids them to contact their family, dictates when they eat, sleep and what they wear. In addition, they believe he forces them to engage in sexual relations, which he then records.
Some of the women have been contacted by the police and claimed they were not being held against their will. All the women are over the age of 18.
In the report, one of the mothers was able to see her daugher and recounted the interation.
“[She] looked like a prisoner. It was horrible. I hugged her and hugged her. But she just kept saying she’s in love and [Kelly] is the one who cares for her. I don’t know what to do.”
While the 50-year-old singer has not commented on the accusations, his lawyer released the following statement.
“We can only wonder why folks would persist in defaming a great artist who loves his fans, works 24/7, and takes care of all of the people in his life. He works hard to become the best person and artist he can be. It is interesting that stories and tales debunked many years ago turn up when his goal is to stop the violence; put down the guns; and embrace peace and love. I suppose that is the price of fame. Like all of us, Mr. Kelly deserves a personal life. Please respect that.”
R. Kelly was previously accused of child pornography after a videotape surfaced allegedly showing him having sex with a 14-year-old girl. He was acquitted of all charges.
