The Oscars are just a few days away and we just can’t contain our excitement. As usual, it’s all about the acting categories… those are the people we know best after all!  We already covered the Best Lead Actress  and  the Best Supporting Actress categories. Now it’s time to talk about the men nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

READ: Full list of Academy Awards Nominees

1- Let’s start with Mark Ruffalo, best known these days for playing The Incredible Hulk on The Avengers.

2- Edward Norton is nominated for playing a brilliant, but difficult actor… a real stretch!

3- Legendary actor Robert Duvall is nominated again. This year, he’s the oldest acting nominee and the second with the most previous nominations (of course Meryl Streep is #1).

4- Ethan Hakwe is nominated for playing a divorced father in Boyhood. The movie took 12 years to make, so while Ethan was working on it, he was also able to be part of 23 other projects (according to IMDB).

5- Most experts are predicting that none of those 4 actors will win this Sunday. The favorite to win is someone whose name you might not have heard before, but you’ve definitely seen his work: J.K. Simmons. He’s best known for his TV roles (Law & Order, Oz, The Closer) and his small roles in Juno and the Spider-Man trilogy. He starred in the NBC sitcom Growing Up Fisher last year which was quickly cancelled. We have a feeling J.K. is not too bummed about that though. He’ll be in high demand after he’s Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons!
