What you see is really what you get — even in TV prison.
Producers of ‘Orange Is The New Black’ refuse to let stars like Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon try to glam themselves up for shoots, Dish Nation has exclusively learned.
In fact, they even order make-up artists to check over the show’s actresses during the shoots to make sure they are not secretly adding mascara and foundation.
One of the Netflix series stars, Diane Guerrero — known for her role as Maritza Ramos — dished about getting busted on the tight rule and reprimanded for trying to glam up her appearance on the screen.
“It is really liberating to work on the show. But I remember one day I asked, ‘Can you just contour a little bit?’ They are like no, and I say, ‘Come on!'” Guerrero told Dish Nation.
“Then of course I remember doing it one day and they were like, ‘Is that contour?’ I just want higher cheek bones…is that a bad thing?”
The contouring was a no-go and Guerrero was ordered to wash off her face, minus a small amount of liner the ladies are allowed.
“They were like get over here and wiped my face. The make-up girls are very red hot on that kind of thing,” she said.
“I get a little liner, so I don’t go bare.”
If you’re wondering why the show needs make-up artists at all, they’re actually on board to transform the beautiful women into prison inmates — giving them a more sallow look, turning Taryn Manning into a meth-head and applying Pablo Schreiber’s fake mustache for his role as Pornstache.
