Ochocinco talks about saving 83% of his NFL salary and you’ll never guess how he did it.
Most people assume NFL players spend a lot of money, but Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is not one of them. During a recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, he revealed he’s saved 83% of his salary by flying Spirit Airlines and wearing fake jewelry from Claire’s.
“I got to a point in my career, I wish people, athletes more so, if you can get to a point in your career where your name becomes bigger than anything you can purchase their value,” Ochocinco told Sharpe.
He went on to reveal he never bought real jewelry while in the NFL, but instead, wore fake jewelry from Claire’s. Additionally, he said he’s not above flying Spirit Airlines. “There’s nothing I can buy bigger than my name alone,” Ochocinco explained.
