Boybander Nick Jonas is having a very open bromance with his new pal Matt Lauria — and they don’t care what anyone thinks.
The 21-year-old Jonas Brothers member and the 30-year-old “Parenthood” star bonded while on the set of their upcoming mixed martial arts series, “Kingdom.”
According to our Dish Nation spies, the straight actors – Nick is dating Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and Matt, who’s been married since 2006 – get a kick out of hanging out together and the rumors that have developed from it.
“Nick and Matt would never call their friendship a bromance, but their respective partners, family and friends do,” a source who worked on the series said. “Nick immediately connected with Matt because he liked his style and respected his acting. He was also a huge fan of ‘Friday Night Lights’ so Matt became a sort of mentor for Nick. Matt really likes Nick too and thinks he’s super talented as well. It’s like a mutual admiration society – they’ve definitely become BFF’s.”
The handsome stars were spotted together at the July 13 Los Angeles premiere of the play “Buyer and Cellar,” which starred Nick’s good friend and former “Ugly Betty” actor Michael Urie. RE2
According to the source, Nick’s friendship with Matt has even caused some major teasing from his older brothers Kevin and Joe.
“Most of the razzing about Nick’s bromance has come from his brothers Kevin and Joe. They rib him, but they know how serious Nick is about about acting. Matt and Nick had a blast working together and are jointly looking for other projects they can act in together or produce. These guys could be he next Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.”
“Kingdom” premiere October 8 on DirecTV.
