After his battle with colon cancer, Gregg Leakes, husband to Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes, has passed away. He was 67 years old. A spokesperson for the Leakes family shared the somber news to E! News.
“Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart,” the spokesperson said. “After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones, and wife NeNe Leakes”—adding that everyone “pray for peace and strength over their family & allow them to mourn in private during this very, very difficult time.”

Gregg’s passing comes just a few days after a viral video surfaced of Nene talking about Gregg’s deteriorating condition. In the clip captured at her Linnethia Lounge, Nene shared that her husband was “transitioning to the other side.” Nene’s son Brentt shared a heartbreaking message on his Instagram story, encouraging everyone to spend as much time with their loved ones as they can. Gregg was diagnosed with colon cancer back in May of 2018.
