Speaking of Empire — as ratings continue to soar, Dish Nation’s own Gary With Da Tea has made a special appearance on the show.
The show’s executive producer, Lee Daniels, commissioned Dallas-based artist Michael Savoie to place some of his pieces on the set of the show, and a portrait he painted for Gary — of Gary — was used in the pilot episode and then was prominently featured on Wednesday’s show!

“I was working at Baskin Robbins, I was 15 and it was one of my first jobs and I had to wear the apron and the cap and I met this girl who wanted to go out and it was when I was supposed to be on shift,” the Leader of the Free World shared with Rickey.
“She looked really good, and I decided to go on the date instead…so I called in sick and I think the boss knew I wasn’t sick. He said, ‘You need to re-examine your goals in life.’ And he was right! I deserved it.”
