Megan Thee Stallion kept it real on Instagram Live last night when she confirmed Canadian rapper Tory Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) was the person who shot her in the foot on July 12th. In addition to accusing Tory’s team of misleading the media about what transpired that night, she also explained why she didn’t reveal Tory as the shooter right away.
“Yes, this n**** Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and shit. Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand,” Megan explained. “I didn’t tell the police what happened immediately right there because I didn’t want to die,” she said, adding that “the police is shooting m************ for anything. The police was literally killing Black people for no m************ reason. You think I’m about to tell the police that we, n*****, us Black people, got a gun in the car? You want me to tell the law that we got a gun in the car so they can shoot all of us up?”
While many suspected Megan’s spat with Tory was about him flirting with Kylie Jenner at a Hollywood Hills party just hours earlier, Megan adamantly denied that allegation. She also clarified that the shooting did not take place at Kylie Jenner’s house. According to Megan, she exited the black SUV after an argument ensued and while she was walking away, Tory—positioned in the backseat of the vehicle—shot her in the back of the foot.
