The R&B diva has been paying her ex Kendu Isaacs $30K a month in spousal support, but now her estranged husband is asking for more coins and wants to more than double it to $65K a month.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Isaacs says he’s having trouble making ends meet, while Blige is trashing him in the press and making bank off her latest album, Strength of a Woman, which he believes is mostly about their divorce.
Isaacs – who was also Blige’s former manager – cites the singles “Love Yourself” and “Set Me Free” as “divorce songs.”
The 49-year-old also says he’s been living in a 1400 sq. ft. apartment since splitting from Blige last year.
Last month, the “Family Affair” singer gave an update on how she’s handling life post divorce.
“I’m doing OK,” Blige told Variety. “I’m living. I’m not happy about a lot of things. I thought someone loved me, right? Turns out, he was a con artist and he didn’t, and now he’s coming after me for all my money.”
Blige and Isaacs married in 2003 and announced their split in July 2016.
