Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” is officially breaking records and you can’t tell him nothin’! The catchy country tune reached it’s 17th consecutive week on the #1 spot on Billboard Hot 100, topping Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s 1995 duet “One Sweet Day.”
To commemorate this momentum moment, Mariah passed a congratulatory torch to the cowboy in a heart felt tweet.
Sending love & congrats to @LilNasX on breaking one of the longest running records in music history! We’ve been blessed to hold this record with a song that means a great deal to @BoyzIIMen and myself and has touched so many. Keep living your best life! ❤ pic.twitter.com/3YorLCg3lx

This record-breaking moment comes months after Billboard Hot Country removed “Old Town Road because it did not “embrace enough elements of today’s country music to chart in its current version.” What do you think about Mariah’s sweet message to Lil Nas X?
