Actress, mother and wife, Kelly Preston, passed away at 57 after a two-year battle with breast cancer. Her husband John Travolta shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.”
Many celebrities, who were shocked to hear the devastating news, are paying tribute to the fallen actress. Russell Crowe reflected on the first time he met Kelly during a 1995 audition, describing her as a “sparkly eyed gem.”
Can’t remember where, but, met first in late ‘92 I think.
Such a lovely person. In 1995 we auditioned together for Breaking Up, Salma Hayek got that gig.
I havent seen her much, but when I did, she was always the same sparkly eyed gem.
Love to her family.
Maria Shriver was “shocked” by the loss of “such a bright loving soul.” She sent her “love and strength” to the Travolta family.
Shocked by this sad news. Kelly was such a bright loving soul, a talented actress, and a loving mom and wife. My heart breaks for her family who have already known such sadness and grief. Join me in sending them love and strength. #RIP#KellyPrestonhttps://t.co/DndcfOtlOn
In addition to John Travolta, Kelly is survived by their two kids, 20-year-old daughter Ella and Benjamin, 9. Their 16-year-old son Jett passed away in 2009 at 16-years-old. We’re sending our thoughts and prayers to the family, friends and fans of Kelly Preston during this devastating time.
