Daniel Rushing from Orlando, Florida had a tradition of treating himself to some Krispy Kremedonutsevery other Wednesday. However, on this particular Wednesday in 2015, the police didn’t let Rushing be great.
After failing to come to a complete stop, Rushing was pulled over. The cop noticed “rock-like substances” on the floor. Despite Rushing assurance they were just good old Krispy Kreme crumbs, the cop proceeded to do a roadside test and it came back positive as meth. He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement did another test and determined Rushing wasn’t lying and it was in fact sugar from the donuts. Rushing received a $37,500 settlement check in the mail last week from the City of Orlando.
Rushing says of his arrest:
“I couldn’t believe it. I’ve never even smoked a cigarette before, let alone meth.”
Rushing was pushed to sue the city after struggling to find work.
“I haven’t been able to work. People go online and see that you’ve been arrested.”
