The 40-year-old is asking his ex-wife to up the child support payments by “at least three times the amount” of the $20K a month he currently receives for their two sons. Gimme Gimme More!
Federline filed court docs claiming he only makes around $3K a month, which he says is less than 1% of what Britney pulls in.
He wants the terms of the custody payments modified because the former back-up dancer’s situation has drastically changed since agreement was signed back in 2008.
“I work as a DJ. My income this year is approximately $3,000 per month, which I earn by traveling to various entertainment venues around the country and providing musical entertainment,” he said in the court documents. “My income has changed significantly since the child support was last modified in approximately 2008 because I no longer earn a six-figure income like I did in 2008. I am no longer able to perform as a dancer due to my age, and I have not been as successful in putting out new music as I was in 2008. I am simply less of a “name” and less in demand than I was in 2008, which has negatively affected my income.”
Federline also claims Spears earns over $34 million a year, which is substantially more than the pop star was earning in 2008 when she had to put her financial matters under a conservatorship.
The “PopoZão” singer says that because of the disparity in wealth, he can not provide a comparable lifestyle for their sons Sean Preston, 12, and Jaden James, 11. The former couple were married from 2004 – 2007.
