Kelly Rowland was not here for any Chris Brown slander or “booing” for that matter at last night’s American Music Awards!
Just a day after Chris claimed his AMAs Michael Jackson tribute performance was unjustly canceled due to “unknown reasons,” he won the award for Favorite Male R&B Artist but was not at the awards show to accept his award, and rightfully so. Kelly, who presented the award, got the crowd all the way together and told them to “chill out” on the booing when Chris was announced as the winner.
“Excuse me…Chill out,” Kelly told the crowd. “Chris, thank you so much for making great R&B music,” the actress concluded. “I’ll take this award [and] bring it to you. I love you. Congratulations, and congratulations to all the nominees in this category.”
The Game, Jermaine Dupri, Tank, and more celebrities rallied in Chris’ defense when he posted on Instagram that his Michael Jackson tribute performance was canceled by the awards “last minute” for “reasons unknown.”
