DISH NATION’S Kellie Rasberry is part of the Dallas-based The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show radio show, currently syndicated in over 75 markets, which also features Big Al Mack, J-Si and Jenna Owens.
Although Kellie originally aspired to become a sitcom actress, the owner of a local radio station saw her at a talent/modeling convention and thought she had the perfect personality for radio. A temporary stint at WJMX in Florence, S. C. led to a full time job. Kellie eventually went on to host her own morning show (“Kellie Rasberry on Sunny 102.9”). In 1994, Kellie saw an ad about a job with another radio show that eventually evolved into a unique partnership on The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.
Since working with The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show, Kellie has won several “Favorite Female Radio Personality of the Year” awards (including acknowledgement from the Ft. Worth Star Telegram), appeared in the made-for-TV movie “Holiday In Your Heart” (starring LeAnn Rimes) and co-hosted an episode of “Live! With Regis & Kelly” during the show’s “Women of Radio” week in October, 2000.
Among her charitable endeavors, Kellie is now a board member of Kidd’s Kids, a charity that takes children touched by tragedy or disease, as well as, members of their immediate family on an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World. She also supports Operation Once in a Lifetime, the Alzheimer’s Association, Minnie’s Food Pantry and various animal charities in the Dallas area. With over 20 years of stories and experiences, she considers attending the 2010 White House Correspondence Dinner and having met some of her childhood idols (Duran Duran, Bov Jovi and Steve Perry) among her career highlights.
Kellie is a self-described puzzle addict (she favors crossword puzzles and sudoku), and recently discovered the online computer game, Candy Crush Saga. She is also an avid reader and a fan of all teams Texas!
Kellie was born in Florence, S. C. where she attended Florence Christian High School. She went on to attend college at Francis Marion University (also in Florence) where she received her B.A. in English. She currently resides in the Dallas suburbs of Plano with her daughter, Emma Kelly, and their Yorkie Poo-Poo, George.
