Kate Middleton reveals her cancer diagnosis amid concerns about her whereabouts following “major abdominal surgery” she underwent in January.
In a recorded statement aired on BBC, Kate said at the time of her surgery her condition was thought to be non-cancerous. However, after undergoing surgery, medical tests revealed she has cancer and she’s currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

Kate addressed the secrecy surrounding her medical status, explaining that in addition to needing time to heal, she and her family also needed time to process the diagnosis which was shocking to them all.
She did not specify what type of cancer she’s being treated for, but thanked everyone for their well wishes and politely requested time, space, and privacy while she continues treatment.
