Kanye West Samples Kim Kardashian’s ‘SNL’ Monologue During His Donda 2 Listening Party
Wednesday, Feb 23, 2022

Kanye West didn’t help Kim Kardashian with her Saturday Night Live monologue for nothin’!

The Donda rapper held his Donda 2 album listening party in Miami last night, and in true Ye fashion, the newsworthy show did not disappoint. In addition to his moody set equipped with smoke and water and throwing his microphone due to frustrations with the audio, one of the most talked-about moments of the night was Mr. West’s sample of his estranged wife Kim Kardashian’s Saturday Night Live monologue.

“I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids,” she continued.

Many fans noticed that although he used a snippet of Kim K’s SNL monologue, which Kanye reportedly helped her prepare, he conveniently left out the part where she said, “so when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.” Oop!

In the days leading up to Kanye’s Donda 2 event, he received backlash for announcing the album will only be available via his own device called a Stem Player, which will run fans about $200. Ye had three album listening parties for the first Donda album released on August 29, 2021— two were held at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in ATL where Kanye resided at one point, and the third was held in Ye’s hometown city Chicago at Chicago’s Soldier Field.

What do you think about Kanye using Kim K’s SNL monologue? Tune in to see what our Dish Nation hosts think.
