Actress and Honest Company founder Jessica Alba might look sugar sweet on the outside, but when it comes to business the Sin City star admits that sometimes she’s  “a little more iron fist than velvet glove.”

Jessica was interviewed by More magazine and said that despite what people might think, starting the Honest Company was a natural progression in her career.

“People act like starting the Honest Company is such a departure,” she said.

“But the reality is I’ve been selling other people’s TV products, beauty products, movie products. I’m leveraging skills I’ve honed in Hollywood for years.”

And when it comes to business, the Hollywood mama isn’t messing around!

“I’ve made people cry,” Jessica confessed. “I have to say, ‘This isn’t personal. This is what needs to get done, and it’s just as simple as that. And … we’re not crying anymore.’ I’m learning to tone myself down.”

And not surprisingly, Jessica says that her work with the Honest Company is definitely more difficult than making a movie.

“Being an actress is like a vacation,” she said. “Business is relentless. People work hard here. It’s nice to be around people who are so committed.”
