JAY Z RUNS THE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME
Monday, Feb 27, 2017

Jay Z may have 99 problems, but being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame is not one of them!

Guitarist Nile Rodgersthe one who announced Jay Z’s induction, said:

“It’s massive. He has changed the way that we listen to music. He’s changed the way that we have fun.”

Jay Z is the first rap artist to be inducted. He successfully meets the requirements which state, “songwriters are eligible for induction after writing hit tracks for at least 20 years.”

Congratulations to the other inductees, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Robert Lamm, James Pankow, Peter Cetera, Berry Gordy, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Max Martin. Robert Lamm, James Pankow and Peter Cetera are all members of Chicago, and Berry Gordy is the founder of Motown.

Celebs shared their support for Jay Z’s achievement. He got major support from the hip-hop community who he, without a doubt, has inspired and influenced.

Even the usual silent Jay Z commented on it…

Plus, he even went so far as to make a Tidal playlist of his contemporaries that he thinks are also deserving of the honor.

You can stream it via Tidal.

Do you think Jay Z is deserving of being the FIRST rapper to be inducted, or were there others that should have been inducted first?

SPRINT IS BETTING BIG ON JAY Z’S TIDAL
