JAY-Z REPORTEDLY TURNS DOWN SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW

Jay-Z has “99 Problems” but the Super Bowl ain’t one.

There were rumors that NFL was looking to have the rapper follow in the footsteps of his wife Beyonce and take on the 2018 halftime show.

But according to The Source, Jay has turned down the gig. Jigga what?!

There were other reports claiming the “Empire State of Mind” singer was going to perform at the game alongside former tour mate Justin Timberlake, but that too appears to have been false.

“Lots of people have been saying Jay will perform with Justin Timberlake, but it is simply not the case,” an insider told Metro. “He has enough songs to create an incredible performance but he really has no plans to do the half-time show.”

Some are speculatiing Jay turned down the offer as part of his ongoing solidarity with Colin Kaepernick.

Just last week Jay-Z dedicated his song “The Story of OJ” to Kaepernick, who has been seemingly blackballed by the NFL for refusing to stand during the National Anthem.

“I want to dedicate this song to Colin Kaepernick tonight …” the rapper said while on stage at the Meadows Music & Art Festival in NYC. “…I want to dedicate this song to anybody that was held back and you overcame whatever it was.”

So a search for a halftime performer continues.

In addition to Queen Bey, recent Super Bowl performers have included Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Madonna.

Rihanna? Jennifer Lopez? Justin Bieber? Pink? Who would you like to see headline the big game on February 4, 2018, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis?
