Toronto Raptors star Jontay Porter took a gamble and lost it all.
The NBA star has received a lifetime ban from the league after an investigation found him technically foul for disclosing information about his health to bettors and limiting his participation in at least one game to increase his chances of winning at least 13 bets—all of which he placed under an associate’s online betting account.
“There is nothing more important than protecting the integrity of NBA competition for our fans, our teams and everyone associated with our sport, which is why Jontay Porter’s blatant violations of our game rules are being met with the most severe punishment,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said during their announcement.

Irregular betting on the reserve center’s statistics in two Raptors games, both of which Porter exited early, is what prompted the investigation last month.
#DishFam, is his punishment appropriate or should the NBA give him another chance?
