It seems like Instagram wants to be TikTok sooo bad, and Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner ain’t here for it!
The Kardashian/Jenner sisters shared a post from photographer Illumitati’s Instagram profile which called out the social media platform for allegedly trying to make it more video-focused while phasing out static photos.
Illumitati’s post directed followers to a Change.Org petition to restore The ‘Gram back to its previous glory when everyone could see cute pics of their friends, and the number of signatures has more than doubled since the Kar-Jenners shared it—garnering nearly 200,000.
Instagram’s CEO Adam Mosseri addressed those concerns about Instagram, and although he said the social media platform will continue to support static posts, he acknowledged the pivot to video—which is “not yet good”—will continue and followers will have to “lean into that shift” as they evolve.
Do you agree with Illumitati and the Kar-Jenners that Instagram should go back to its original version, or Mosseri’s plan to evolve the platform? Tune in to see how our Dish Nation hosts feel about the new changes to The ‘Gram!
