2023 is Tamar Estine Braxton’s “Me Year.” The Emmy and Grammy-nominated multi-hyphenate has reclaimed her voice and found a new balance as singer, actress, television personality and producer. The Braxton sister will reassume her beloved role as Sasha on season 2 of the hit BET show “King of Business.” Her thespian career will work in tandem with her return to the FOX network as a co-host. After co-creating and starring on the syndicated daytime talk show “The Real” (2013 to 2016), which earned two Daytime Emmy Award nominations, Tamar will now join the cast of FOX’s comedic entertainment news show “Dish Nation” for its 12th season.
In addition to her television endeavors, Tamar Braxton fans will also be elated to learn that the five-octave soprano’s sixth solo album is also on the horizon. She released five compositions over a 17-year span (Love and War and Calling All Lovers reached #1 and #2 on Billboard’s R&B Albums charts), while co-creating and starring in seven seasons of WeTV’s historically successful “Braxton Family Values”––the longest running family reality show in TV history. Her seamless pivot to acting secured her appearances on television (“The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Celebrity Big Brother,” which she won), stage (“Redemption of a Dogg”) and the big screen––in support of her role in the 2020 film True To The Game 2, Braxton released the single “Crazy Kind of Love,” which climbed to #2 on Billboard’s Adult R&B charts during the pandemic.
Following her autobiographical doc-series “Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life!,” the youngest Braxton sibling fell out of love with reality television and bouts with divorce, single motherhood and depression pushed her towards retiring from music. The multi-talent found success elsewhere with her 2021 podcast Under Construction, which received two NAACP nominations. At the end of 2021, she began collaborating with her producers from Love and War and today, with a new commitment to therapy and “the art of television” as a producer as well as a celebrity, she has found fresh space for her first love: Music. It looks like 5 Emmy nominations and 4 Grammy nominations are just the beginning for young Logan’s “Boss Mom.”
