George Clooney just sold his tequila company Casamigos for $1 billion dollars to Diageo, a British alcoholic beverage company.
George Clooney commented:
“If you asked us four years ago if we had a billion dollar company, I don’t think we would have said yes. This reflects Diageo’s belief in our company and our belief in Diageo. But we’re not going anywhere. We’ll still be very much a part of Casamigos. Starting with a shot tonight. Maybe two.”
Rande Gerber told CNBC that the company was started under circumstances where usually horrible decisions are made… after some tequila!
“As you do when you’re in Mexico, you drink a lot of tequila. After a couple of months trying a lot of different tequilas, George turned to me and said, ‘Why don’t we just make our own? One that’s perfect for us to drink?’ It was important that it tasted great and didn’t burn going down. We wanted one that we could drink straight or on the rocks. One that we could drink all day and all night, and not be hungover in the morning.”
If there was any question before, George, Amaland the twins are going to be just fiiiiiine.
