EXCLUSIVE: KIEFER SUTHERLAND WANTS TO SAY GOODBYE TO JACK BAUER!
Tuesday, Jul 15, 2014
As the clock ticked towards the final seconds of the “24: Live Another Day” finale last night there was one person who thinks the time has run out for the popular political thriller – its star, Kiefer Sutherland.
Dish Nation has learned exclusively that the Emmy Award winning actor is finally ready to let Jack Bauer walk quietly into the sunset.
There’s just one problem. Executives are desperate for Kiefer to sign up for a second season of “24: Live Another Day,” which was billed as a “limited event series.”
An insider on the set exclusively told Dish Nation: “Kiefer wants to retire Jack Bauer once and for all. He was really hoping to make a ‘24’ film, but it never happened and then this series came up instead. He’s been doing the same character since 2001 and while he’s loved every minute of it, he’s adamant about moving on, for good this time.”
The original “24” series aired for eight season, ending in 2010. After a much talked about big screen version failed to see the light of day, Fox brought back the series this year as “24: Live Another Day,” which is set four years after the events in season eight.
According to the source, the producers and executives have been in talks with Sutherland, trying to convince him to sign on for one more season of the series.
“Kiefer took a much needed break from ’24,’ but he came back for the series because he missed Jack Bauer,” adds the source. “Maybe he can be talked into a film version, but he’s telling everyone that will listen that he’s definitely done with making ‘24,’ the series.”
