On Wednesday night, the ESPY Awards were held in Los Angeles and put on by the ESPN network. But if all you were expecting was a bunch of jocks dressed up in tuxedos, guess again. The 2015 ESPY’s were bound to have you laughing, crying, cheering, and maybe thinking differently about the impact that sports can have on a person’s life.

Catilyn Jenner Accepts the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage
Caitlyn Jenner wowed us big time at the ESPY’s. Not only did she look stunning, but her message of acceptance and respect struck a chord in even her harshest critics. Caitlyn spoke about her journey as a transexual woman and how winning gold in the Olympic games helped her prepare for the monumental task of coming out and sharing her story with the world.
Ronda Rousey Wins Best Fighter Award
Take that Flloyd Mayweather! He may have walked away from his recent showdown against Manny Paquiao with a paycheck worth more than $200 million, but Ronda Rousey walked away with the Best Fighter Award on Wednesday. She was presented with the award on the Red Carpet pre-show and had a few choice words for Maywearther. Talk about a one-two punch!
Ben Affleck Presents the Icon Award to Former Yankee Derek Jeter
If you know anything about baseball, you know that the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry is maybe the strongest and longest lasting in all of sports. So when die-hard Boston Red Sox fan Ben Affleckpresented the Icon Award to former New York Yankee Derek Jeter, the crowd was definitely hanging on his every word. And as was a common theme throughout the whole night, it all boiled down to respect.
US Women’s Soccer Team Wins…Again!!!
Fresh off a first place finish at the Women’s World Cup in Canada, the US Women’s National Soccer team walked away with the ESPY for Best Team, because duh! They are! Not only did the women destroy Japan in an amazing 5-2 victory at the World Cup, but they did it with style, class, and unmatched athleticism.
