According to Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Vin Diesel needs to pump the breaks on his “manipulative” social media post to get The Rock to return to the Fast & Furious franchise! The Rock revealed what he really thought about Diesel’s cry for his return to CNN, and he did not hold back.
“This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly—and privately— that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return,” The Rock told the outlet.
He went on to call Vin’s post “an example of his manipulation” and was furious that Vin mentioned his kids and the death of their fallen Fast & Furious co-star, Paul Walker.
“Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation,” Johnson said. “I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”
In another recent interview with Vanity Fair, the Hobbs & Shaw star got real candid about his 2016 scathing Instagram post where he called Vin Diesel a “candy ass” and “chicken s***” while filming the franchise.
Do you think Vin’s social media plea for The Rock to come back to Fast & Furious was manipulative?
